These espresso cups were influenced by the atomic era, which was started by the first detonation of the atomic bomb in 1945. I made six identical cups through the process of casting concrete in a three part mould and then sealing the concrete with a hand-coloured and food safe, water-proofing seal. The stands were hand carved from fijian kauri and finished with a natural, beeswax wood polish.
