This cabinet was designed to give an old object a new life. I integrated a vintage Rabone fold out ruler which served as the main hinge and handle for the door. The purpose I wanted to create for this cabinet was to hold something of value, so I played with the idea of preserving the object inside and how I could reflect that in the design.
The only materials I used to construct the Rabone Cabinet were the Boxwood Rabone ruler, pine wood (joined with a mitred biscuit joint), MDF and glue. All wood is finished with Danish Oil.
