Sky
This piece is based off a photograph I took of my cat, Sky. This method of drawing is a subtractive method where gradation is shown primarily through the technique. This artwork received an honorable mention at the 2014 Frontier League Art Competition.
Arches National Park
This mixed media piece is based off a photograph I took of Arches National Park. Using oil pastels I created a bright, textured view of the arch. I did not use any black oil pastel in this piece, but instead layered colors to create the dark shade where It was needed.
Tree Bark
This graphite piece was based on a macro view of intricate tree bark. The edges of the piece blur as the focal point is the center of the frame. This artwork received an artistic merit award at the 2013 Frontier League Art Competition.
Leaf
This mixed media piece uses both graphite and charcoal. My focus for this piece was macro texture, so the details were very intricate. This piece received a First Place award in the drawing category at the 2014 Frontier League Art Competition. It also received a best in show award.
This macro water droplets piece was created using textured paper and both black and white charcoal. This piece was accepted into the 17th Annual Metro High School Arts Competition in 2013.
Wolf Texture
With this scratchboard design I focused on experimenting with textures with a subtractive method of drawing. This piece was full of contrast and texture.
Colorful Callie
This artwork is a mixed media piece based off a photograph I had taken. Magazine clippings and newspaper clippings were used to create this piece. The colors had to come from old newspapers and magazines, which made it a challenge to find all the colors I needed. The texture of this piece was unique because of the overlaying of paper.
