Forget Me not

 

I began thinking about the connection between memory and materials and the sentimentality clothing possesses after I received a number of handkerchiefs and heirloom fabrics passed down from my grandmother. I wanted to portray a sweet young woman with an appreciation for her past and a recognition of her own sentimentality. The interior of the coat utilizes my grandmother's fabrics in a series of small pockets suitable for housing more private, fragile items or notions one holds dear.
