Digital History Painting
I have been in the habit of searching the internet for the most telling images which evoke the essence of our evolving digital culture and combining these with my own photography. I subsequently rework this visual stew into new images. A kind of frenetic layering is the base aesthetic produces. Sometimes an aphorism included in the piece suggests a certain reading, other times line drawings are laser cut onto the images surface. The end result of these complex images when taken together, is a reflection of our own culture’s confusing polyphonic scream.
