Acts Of Creation
My final series for my second-semester Drawing studio at RISD, consisting of 19 drawings completed over a 5-week period, began as an exploration in depicting movement and the passage of time through an intrinsic part of the RISD foundation year experience, homework. As the series progressed and I began to focus on closer friends, my drawings became more of an investigation of how each person interacted with their own work and workspace, and I used the work they created to inform my own, culminating in a pair of self-portraits that incorporate what I've learned from those around me to reflect my own process and its inherent frustrations.

 sizes ranging from 18" x 24" to 50" x 76", all charcoal & conté crayon.
