France sketchbook (June/July 2016)

On this trip, without thinking too much, I wanted to draw like a child; as immediate and as quickly as possible. I liked the result and it made me enjoy the trip that much more.
In the Black Mountains in the village Escoussens.
Sitting with my back to the Loire, I really liked how heavy this composition was; hard angles, a thich tree and different types of bushes.

A fruit tree that I never saw before. It was in the back of the garden of where I was staying.

Under the viaduct in Gien there was this house butted up against it. I had to stop since these little bugs were flying and landing all over me and the sketchbook driving me nuts.
Rooftops from where I was sitting having a coffee; Gien center.
A quick gesture of 2 boats that were tied on the bank of the Loire (Gien, France)
"Big ass french dude on the train to Agen"
A very ordinary church in Montauban France that I liked a lot.
Gien bridge that crosses the Loire.
The one on the left is from 2008 and the one on the right was from this trip. 8 years later and with no reference, I wanted to see how close I could get to the old drawing by memory.
