These photographs were taken over the course of two months, and are in order from first attempt to the final attempt (in this series).  During this time, I was learning how to take clear photographs of the moon by reading tips online and using trial and error from each session to improve. The first two were taken using a 200mm zoom, and the rest were taken using a 300mm zoom.

Each photograph was achieved by using a tripod and manual focus on the lens' maximum optical zoom option. Then, each photograph was enhanced in Adobe Photoshop CS5 to better define the craters by reducing smoothness and increasing contrast.
Photographs taken using a Nikon D3100 with 55-200mm and 55-300mm lenses.
Location: central Arkansas.
