Artist’s Statement
The space must be magically and mythicalfor the story, the apex of which is the castle’s literal transformation intothe Enchanted Forest. Columns become trees that start to move and shift, treessprout from the floor, and the solid, hard walls of the castle turn transparentas they become vines and plants while soft beds of moss coddle the sleepingmembers of the kingdom. At this point the world is entirely under the LilacFairy’s control and she can manipulate it at will to push the Prince’s company awayand pull him in. When the castle is restored it is redecorated for the weddingin true fantasy style.
