A friend was admiring her friend's pajamas, with a repeating pattern of Latin figures. She wanted to use the same pattern as a basis for an embroidery pattern to apply to the hems of pillowcases. I was asked if I could reproduce them in a scalable format to use as the pattern. I scanned the nearly see-through, thin-clothed pajama fabric on my scanner, isolated the figures, and am using Adobe Illustrator to recreate the screen-printed pattern. It is a work in progress, but I'm happy with the progress thus far. The first image is the scan.

Here are the first five figures in the fabric pattern reproduction. I am creating them with an opacity that mimics the ink overprint aspect of the original. It is painstaking work, but so far I'm pleased with the outcome.
