The Bloody Chamber.
Artist Book.
This project is based on a House of Illustration and The Folio Society competition. The brief was to respond to the text of Angela Carter's, The Bloody Chamber, a series of ten short stories, based on original folk tales, otherwise called adult fairytales. A collection of ten illustrations were produced, all depicting a secret, in each story: The Bloody Chamber, The Courtship of Mr Lyon, The Tigers Bride, Puss in Boots, The Erl King, The Snow Child, The Lady of the House of Love, The Werewolf, The Company of Wolves, Wolf Alice. These images were then printed on A3 tracing paper and places in a large recyclable envelope (relating to the nature surroundings). Illustrations of various objects evidence to the secrets were displayed in a bag to support the imagery.
