The focus of this project was Lord's Department Store, of Medfield, Massachusetts, closing its doors after 73 years. Generations had grown up with the glowing 25 foot, neon sign and were saying goodbye to a part of the town's history.

 

Nostalgia is that unexpected wave of wistful yearning that washes over each of us from time to time. The memories themselves are happy, yet we are left with a melancholy longing for times past. The first image represents the present time; the second image, is the long past memory of the place, and the third image, a sentimental snapshot saved from the past. It is an individual's nostalgic memory and personal history with a place.
