I start drawing the skeleton or sketch of the temple. In this part is when I decide how detailed the work would be. As you can see here, this one was very intricate, full of many details. About 4 hours to finish this "sketch".
In the inking process ... one dot at a time.
This was my first time usign a 0.1 mm Stadler Mars Matic pen. It´s so fine and obviously requires a lot more of work, but the final result is just perfect!
Just another view.
There are some tricky parts when it comes to stippling (or pointillism if you prefer), because you have to decide where to put the dots and where not. This can make a huge difference. If you place the dots carefully in the correct place the result will be stunning (Sorry for the angle, Behance needs a tool for rotating xD)
The number of dots per second varies depending on the part of the drawing. In this project there are no linesonly dots. Even the ones that seems to be lines they aren´t believe me. I use a ruler for the outlines, that helps me to make the work faster and more precise. So, again the average varies between 2 and 4 dots per second. I could do it a little bit faster but I prefer avoiding mistakes you know, there´s no need to rush ;)
40% finished. It begins to take form :)
Texture guys, the texture of stippling is just amazing! It´s worth the time, that´s why I love stipling so much!
In this part the work was done, but I wanted to add some extra details to give the Temple a look of depth, see the next picture.
The feeling of shadows makes the difference right? The closer the dots, the darker it gets. Pay attention to lightning and you´ll see the effect of realism that it adds to your work.
After 30-35 hours of work this was the result. About 150,000 tiny dots.
Thanks for appreciating!
