The publication for “The Odyssey” and “Iliad” are reinterpreted in the format of a novel to reach a wider audience. The sea in “The Odyssey” and the blood in “Iliad” are key points to the story, which was taken as the concept of the books.
The idea of journey across the sea and land was implemented on the cover through the use of photograph. An image of water droplets were tweaked and combined with textures to create the right feel for the books. It has a sense of depth and resonating ambience in correlation to its initial storytelling as a poem. The paper stock chosen was rather textured to bring out the ambience portrayed on the cover design. It is at a comfortable size to carry around to support the soft cover format. To finish off, the books were bound in coptic stitch as it could open up completely.
