Determine how the migration to an all-digital workflow would impact pathologists within an organization? Identifying potential inefficiencies in the pathologists’ workflow that can be improved by an all digital workflow. Understanding the significance of this impact for evaluating digital pathology solutions for high-volume uses.
Methodology
Observe pathologists across multiple days, sub-specialties, and sites. Record time spent on each discrete task. Combine the tasks into common activities. Identify the tasks impacted by an all-digital workflow. (Note: 93 hours of observations at six different institutions)
