We always have something to represent ourselves... Our identity.
So shouldn't Designers have one too?
During the course of my study, I reached a point where I was not sure of my own identity. My dreams, my inspirations, my future... it all seemed like a blur. I needed something to represent those, what I want to do
as an illustrator. After much trial and error, I finally found my own logo.

My Identity.

My inspiration came from my admiration of women who were strong, brave and always standing by their ideals. For my logo, I made a reference to Joan of Arc (also known as Jeanne D' Arc), a girl who became a soldier to save her country from desperation. I admire how she bravely faced her adversaries in order to achieve her goals. To me, she was the ordinary girl who became a knight and a legend.

Hence, I used a knight to represent the ideals and the references of what I have resolved to be and to strive hard in everything I do to create wonderful illustrations, characters and stories for everyone to enjoy. The Knight's pose also shows my dream to become an inspiration to others. While the 'Pencil lance' and 'Graphic tablet shield' represent my interest in field of illustration.

Other inspirations were from my love for illustration styles found in mythology and fantasy tales, comics and art. The brown painted background gives a feel of the manuscript pages. As if the character is part of a story. The initials "CMXC" represents my full name in initials. Below are namecards designed from 2012 to 2013 as a practice for my art styles.
