Purpose
Joe Labuschagne, a South African who is passionate about Africa and wish to support children who have beautiful lives and bright future ahead of them only if they are given a chance hope or help. He has always been interested in raising money for charity and have chosen running as a way to give back from the enjoyment he has gained from participating in sports over the years. However, as designers, I partnered with Joe to raise public awareness and decided to focus on the idea of using both digital and print media.
The design aims to raise “Running for a cause” awareness with the support of three charities who have visions and objectives that align with Run Africa
· Warwick in Africa: Providing and enhancing good quality education in Africa, thereby reducing poverty
· World Bike Relief: Providing bicycle to improve access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities
· Water Aid: Providing water, sanitation, and hygiene education there by reducing poverty
Constrains and process:
Attention is scarce, therefore as a designers I ensured that the main cause of the run stand out and are particularly attention grabbing. Thanks to Adobe packages like Photoshop and Illustrator for that I used to design my prototypes and posters, Dreamweaver a powerful WYSIWUG editor for HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, finally phone gap build for compiling my source code to a cross platform mobile application.
I was able to guide the audience to those elements that are more important. Remembering that learners must be selective about what they focus on and learn. So, by including key information up front it was easy to convince audience to support the cause
