The brief was to create a photography magazine.  
 
As part of my third year at Loughborugh University, I decided upon a self-initiated breif. The brief was to design a photographic magazine, featuring aspiring and emerging photographers and their photographs, sourced entirely from social media, with the purpose of aiding them on their journey to prominence and notability. I felt this was a needed product as, whilst social media is an ideal platform for aspiring photographers to promote their work, in such an oversaturated environment photographs can get lost in a sea of similar material. This consequently makes it increasingly difficult for emerging photographers to get noticed. I chose to use Instagram as the social media source for the magazine, as it is used by many aspiring photographers. The result of the breif was FOCUS Magazine. The magazine is a quarterly online publication, and is heavily focused on imagery. The logo, derivative of a camera's viewfinder, portrays this theme as the front cover image can be seen through the logo. The first issue features 12 photographers from around the world focusing on landscape photography.
