Part 2 of my Memorial Day project. A walk amongst the flags and flowers.
As I was shooting at the National Cemetery here in Sarasota I was struck by many feelings. The sorrow, the pride, the beauty. As you look across the stones and flags you cant help but have a reaction to the strength and sadness that is there. Once you walk amongst the stones you feel even more. Inscriptions.
"A True Patriot", "Bronze Star", "Purple Heart", "Wife", etc. The list goes on. And you see the flowers, the tokens, the remembrances left by those who were also there walking amongst the stones. Im honored by my family who have fought for our freedom since at least the Civil War. There are treasured pictures of our men in uniform. There are stones with names and flags and flowers. I thank not only them but every serviceman or woman and their families. All give some. Some give all.
