D&AD MONOTYPE BRIEF 2016
Take a cause you believe in and use the power of type to make a difference. Design with typography to agitate, educate, and organise, the world and your audience. Use typography to help people believe in your cause and its purpose; to motivate and inspire people, in a relevant way, to your cause; and above all, to make an impact. Typography is the soapbox for your rallying cry. Used at its best, it can empower your words, evoke meaning, set tone, and inspire ideas. Without it, your message could be drowned out.
MY CAUSE - THOUGHTLESS AGGRESSION AND MINDLESS VIOLENCE
Lenticular technology - The message of my poster will change as an individual walks past a paritcular spot, relying on a change of perspective. The effect will start with a positive message, and as you carry on walking, the graphics will change into a reflection on that brief moment of positivity. This short animation below shows the Lenticular effect, each poster will feature a different snail with his or her own unique statement. Below, we meet Shelly.

So many advertising and marketing campaigns are forced on the public, so it’s no surprise that this de-sensitisation is part of our daily routine. This campaign works more along the subtle and subconscious Mind-set. Making people stop and think about those around us. My subject doesn’t grab our attention with loud, belligerent statements. Instead, snails are silent witnesses to a much more dangerous, unforgiving world. With this in mind, I conceived of a snail graveyard, a gentle reminder that both celebrates life, but also reflects on how we treat such a fragile being.
Messages would advertently pop up on pedestrians phones when they entered a certain area of the park
