  • This project was inspired by my strongest female relationships, an ode to women who inspire, uplift and challenge me. By re-appropriating the word Mistress to it's initial meaning, a woman in control of herself, from the demeaning rhetoric of patriarchal society.  
  • The covers of the book, as well as the box that contains this work, have shuttered connections to evoke thoughts of room dividers for a more intimate feeling as the viewer interacts with the piece.
