Spell Check This* : Dyslexia Awareness Campaign

The difficulty does not lie in how people with dyslexia perceive information, but in the collective belief, that their way of perceiving it is “wrong”.

The campaign “SpellCheckThis*” addresses the ignorance with which we still address diverse learning needs and Neurodiversity to this day. People with Dyslexia have to not only face the difficulty of having varying learning needs but also the pain of navigating a world completely ignorant if not just intolerant to their difference. People with dyslexia succeed not "despite" the disability, but have proven to use their difference to their advantage and used it to create new outlook. This campaign uses these very known personalities that we love and respect and juxtaposes their greatness with slurs, judgements and stereotypes children with dyslexia grow up with everyday.

Inspiration and Process

The illustration style was inspired by multiple pop artist references that use graphic lines and solid colours to communicate the layered complexity of Neurodiversity.
