Andre is a recently released single produced by Samuel Proffitt in collaboration with Josh Jacobson. The track was inspired by the tragic passing of Sam’s Angolan friend whom he met studying abroad in St. Petersburg back in 2012. A few months after leaving Russia, Sam recieved word that his friend had suddenly passed away. The circumstances of Andre's death and Sam's final conversation left him with a lasting impression.
This album cover takes inspiration from the elegiac nature behind the song while simultaneously hinting towards the poetics behind deterioration and erasure. The cover features an abstracted face overlooking a landscape—a single obscure image of a promenade in St. Petersburg.
