Final Project for Nikki Juen's Foundations Design class

Assignment: House of Cards (Make a set of 16 cards with the given 16 themes that tells a story about yourself)
The Performance
Topless, wearing the Boobie Book on my chest,
Inviting interaction
Participants taking out the cards one by one
As cards in the case started to decrease, participants began to slow down, leaving the last two cards
When all cards were finally taken out, breasts were revealed
Seconds after the exposure of my body, participants began to put back all the cards into the case

Each volunteer was asked to pose in response to the themes that they were given.

Various women volunteered to have photographs of their breasts taken in support of this project. The actions of these women symbolize their desires to be liberated from society's standards of women. The anonymous nature of the project protects the women's identities but this simultaneously reflects the intimidating aspect of identification caused by society's objectification of women's bodies.
