"SERVICE" was a multimedia performance event and installation in Marquand Chapel at Yale University made possible by the Yale School of Divinity (YDS) and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music (ISM). The event was organized around the semester long installation by Camille Hoffman. Her piece "In the future, they kept alive what ancestral rites they could remember", made for her Yale MFA in 2014, was hung undulated through the vaulted space of the chapel. Hoffman's piece, as well as my curation of texts and reflection, was inspired by Edgar Garcia's (PhD '16) poetry and prose. Specifically his work, "Partial Animals: A Collection of Stories, Songs, Artifacts, Images, and Poems Documenting the Anthropogenic Climate Interference." The event was curated and installed with the help of Jon Seals ('15 YDS/ISM). In addition School of Music alum Wyatt Smith performed organ music, and YDS alum Kayla Beth Moore read.
