DEADWEIGHT

  • Welded and brazed the formed construction references the briefcase and cuff, denoting a wealth within the weight.
                Scaled to match the volume a solid weight would displace for the 82.5kg of my body.  The piece looks at the burden and value of self, bolted to our being, the freeing from which being a catastrophic failure of form and self worth.  Screwed on, the weight is a benefit and a hindrance, anxiously guarded kept closed to the body
    out of necessity.
