Little Red Riding Hood Reinterpretation

This illustration brief was to reinterpretate the old folk tale of Little Red Riding Hood through any approach and media of our choice. I choose to rewrite this tale as if it were a modern story told today and also put a humourous spin on the storyline. The big bad wolf is actually a friendly wolf who is only wants to make friends with others, however he’s sad because everyone judges his scary appearance and runs away from him on the streets of Dublin. Little Red is a sassy character who is adored by all, however she is somewhat mysterious. It is only at the end of the story when she returns to her Grandmother’s flat, that we find out that she is dealing drugs from her wicker basket, and the Grandmother is her partner in crime! I executed this visually using a collage of drawing, watercolour painting and type.
