Character Design Brief #2 - Expression Sheet

We were tasked with designing another classmates character using only an extended written description. This character, Jane Leary was described by Brid Cuddy, Her breakdown gave me a good idea of the sense of person this character would be, should she exist in the real world. Personal traits and mannerisms I picked up were worked into her pose and dress.
Full sized vector illiustration (Below) that I decided to work up based on the turnarounds and silhouettes I made for this project
Reflective Practice - I have learned a lot about the process of bringing a character from thoughts and words into visual existence, and I have a better appreciation now for just how delicate of a process it can be, very easily going astray unless fine care is taken in research and development, even for the most trivial of characters. Good reference makes for good finished characters, for sure.
Final close up of face detailing - I wanted the larger lower chin to be more lit up as it sticks out whilst she tilts her head back to look down her nose at others. This was a feeling I got from reading the description, and I tried to keep it in mind when drawing. :D
