Bamboo Grove in Providence

This redevelopment of a parking lot in Providence downtown into a Botanical garden project aims to engender aspects of space making, ornamentation, habitat creation, and providing cultural relevance through the use of plants.
A city is a woven fabric. It is a collage of stitched contradictions; Impermanence- Permanence, light and dark, rough and smooth.
"These extreme conditions condition one’s perception of the environment, where ‘irrational’ images are common - and real - and often appear as paradigmatic moments. Those moments or irrationality are echo of such experiences; often eerie and jolting, sometimes magical. Oscillating between the revelation of a previously existing reality and the construction of a new reality, city dwellers move through the spaces, looking at the bounty of the world, leading them to understand it dynamically, never essentially".
-Anita Berrizbeitia on Roberto Burle Marx's Parque Del Este.

A collage looking out of the Bamboo Grove through changing seasons - summer, spring and winter.
