Mother Natures Gift

This is a one block linoleum print that was carved away at in four different steps.  Each carving reduction was a different color.
It is inspired by Art Nouveau linoleum and woodblock prints as well as illustrations for 1920s childrens books.
The title | Mushrooms : Mother Nature's Gift | is a play on difference of the meaning "gift" in English and German.
In English, it is the obvious definition of a present. In German, it means poison.  Two polar opposites that use the same lettering.

Below are different iterations of the design using varying colors and registrations.
The mis-registration adds to the concept of mushrooms and their connotations.
