For this project I was tasked with creating a personal monogram that told a narrative under ten-seconds. For my technique I attempted a hand-drawn style of animation based on the illustrations and lettering of Mike Perry and based on the contemporary sans-serif typeface Refrigerator Deluxe, with over one hundred frames. I hand-drew each frame using a Faber-Castell India ink pen (size S). Featuring strange transformations, bright colors, and my favorite bakery treat—donuts—I wanted to create something with personality that embodied the essence of myself. It was a long (and ugly) process, but I learned so much from it.
