MCUBED is more than just a branding initiative, it’s about forging a stronger community through connecting high schools and the surrounding institutions in order teens to reach their potential and shape the future of Milwaukee. Together my team and I worked with Bayview High School students to create an identity that they feel reflects their hopes for the future, while teaching them about the creative process, and designing for good.
My duties centered around community outreach, since many Milwaukee students use public transportation I created bus stop advertisements that not only beautify the space, but echo MCUBED’s values. Additionally I included a plan for bus stop terrariums that would be taken care of by local schools while simultaneously teaching kids about local ecology.
MCUBEDwas unveiled to the public at the 2016 Resolutions Showcase. There was a separate showing for the Bayview class we worked with as well as influential members of the Milwaukee Public School Board. The branding is projected to go into official use in the 2017-2018 school year.
