X & Y

In my Jr. Project I want to represent Opposites we meet in life, whereas the heart symbolizes life and is the common object in my five Artworks. To stay neutral I called my project “X &Y”, because my target was not to go in any positive or negative direction. The five categories of my project are representing the beginning & the end, rough & smooth, ancient & modern, artificial & natural and simple & complicated, where each opposite is part of everyone’s lives.
I chose the anatomical heart as my main object because the heart alludes to a person’s deepest center, the most vulnerable point but also the origin of their enthusiasm and passion. It has always been seen as the most alive part of a person, the site of the intimate unity of body and spirit, and the depth and authenticity of an individual’s feelings and words.
