Robo Sketches
The Robo Explorer makes his way to and through New Zealand
This series of sketches involves a Robot Explorer who goes about the World discovering things.  His programmer was no good and so everything he sees is awe inspiring and astounding. In this case Robo Explorer has gone on vacation to New Zealand and has run into his first kiwi.

Each piece was started as a pencil sketch in the book, and was then scanned into the computer.  I then cleaned the image up in Photoshop sometimes redrawing bits and pieces using custom brushes. I also brushed in ink washes to ad a softer textured background to contrast the crisp lines of the subjects.
The intrepid Robo Explorer needs directions and fortuitously encounters his first Kiwi!  Stunned, Robo Explorer doesn't know what to say.
Here he is, enjoying Wellington's winter weather.  Nothing beats sideways rain.
Having settled in Wellington for a while, Robo Explorer finds a job to put some money away for more exploring. The only problem with the job is that he is required to talk to people on the phone, and a lot of the time these people are irate. After a few days...phonophobia
One of the perks about working in New Zealand is that each day Robo Explorer is able to start the morning with a great cup of Instant Coffee and Milo...the best drink in the World.
