One of the projects for my third year video module is to create a thirty second advertisement for a product of your choice. I choose to do one for Overdrive an app that allows you to access eBooks through your local library. It is an app that I have only been using for a few months and one that I wished I had known about sooner. This app is completely free and allows you to download and read eBooks online and off any time anywhere. There no late fees as when your due date comes around your book either expires or you can renew it online.
I wanted to highlight the flexibility this app offers, so I decided to show a variety of different people using it in their everyday life's.
The ad starts with a panning shot down a street showing:
~ A teenager reading on her phone.
~ A mother reading books with her children.
~ A book club having a meeting at a cafe.
~ A jogger listening to audio books,
~ A couple on a date discussing their favorite books.

I then go in to the app itself to show how you join and a sample of the books it has to offer. I felt this was important because not everyone in Overdrives target market is necessarily familiar with apps or computer literate. I wanted to show how easy it was to access this resource and make it as inclusive as possible. I also wanted to show a sample of the books on offer thought the app as I felt the knowledge of its resources should be one of the main focusing of their marketing.
After I finished the planning on storyboard for my ad I moved on to creating a rough animatic so I could judge timing. Below is version one and two of my animatic. Version one was purely used for working out timing while the second version includes some of my integrated assets.
