This project was completed for Mickey Ackerman's Spacial Dynamics wire shoe assignment. The goal was to perfectly replicate the form of a shoe by 2.5 x the scale with an emphasis on "drawing the lines in space". In order to do this I not only had to pay close attention to the meassurements and proportions of the original shoe but also to the gesture of the lines and what they say about the personality of the shoe.
I took the approach of abstracting the essential lines in order to convey its elegant form. Using different wire gages I emphasized the more "important" lines and used the thinner gages to imply form.
I was pretty satisfied with the final product.
