The Brooklyn Library's Sketchbook project put a call out for a competition to illustration a nightmare. My nightmare, being from Nebraska, are tornadoes. I experienced a F5 in 1975 in Omaha. I have had nightmares about tornadoes ever since. My drawing was selected from 1000 entries to appear in the New Yorker to promote Showtime's new Penny Dreadful series. The drawing had to be completed on a folded card they provided, hence the fold down the middle.
