Autism classroom re-design

Watch this explosively charged video, and you might get a sense of what somebody with non-verbal autism is experiencing when they enter highly confusing and stimulating environments.

With a budget of about $4,500 dollars to research, test, design and execute, me and fellow undergrad Shanaiya Maloo teamed up with MDES grad students Ana Morataya Quan, Qi Gui, and Fang Ho to design positive intervention in a second and third grade autistic classroom in local Providence Public School Anthony Carnevale Elementary.

digital 3D modelling, rendering, laser cutting, construction, fabrication, furniture, interior design, educational & curriculum, textile & upholstry design, and empathetic skills were all put to the test in this intense five weeks of critical making.

additional credits to all in the Landscape and Interior architecture department who contributed in the intensive four day brainstorming and designing process Fall 2015.

Look on.
