From Spring 2015 Spatial Dynamics: make three wearable pieces surrounding a single theme.
Here I portray the intense amalgam of sensations I felt while sitting on the ledge of a balcony five stories high. Essentially, the fear of falling.
1. The Turtleneck: This accessory portrays the feeling of isolation when watching people go about their daily lives far below, unaware that someone is sitting with their legs dangling down the edge of a balcony high above them.
2. The Dress: This dress of rope has stones weighing it down. It represents the heaviness one feels when near a ledge or cliff--as if one had never been so heavy.
At the same time, the writing on the stones represent my personal worries, which weigh me down psychologically.
3. The Headpiece: This collar and hair piece combo depicts the feeling of being suffocated or strangled by fear.
