Professional Selfie at the Museum

How it Started

The inception the this project came about observing the different responses and interactions people had with art in museums. We observed the physical movements people made, the overall noise level, the smell of the rustic furniture, but all these experiences seemed subjective and had varying degrees of significance depending on the individual's age. After visiting the museum we shared our own personal experiences and found how little we recalled emotionally. SHow do we make a museum experience more memorable?

Professional Selfie at the Museum

A professional selfie is the combination of interesting backdrop with an engaging foreground, you! Art is a stationary experience where we apply meaning and life, but how we navigate the space will determine what is remembered and what is forgotten. Though, many take photos to reinforce their memory of the experience in hopes to relive or recount those experiences, but it is the actions that speak louder than pictures. An amazing selfie can capture that optimal essence of the experience, making it able for you to “relive” that particular experience.

Idea finalization

To make an experience memorable we must associate a physical engagement with the art, so not only does the mind remember but also the body.
