Waitress The Musical: Website

Waitress: Splash Page
_________
BRANDING, WEB DESIGN, WEB DEVELOPMENT

Such as most Broadway show sites begin, Waitress started as a splash page. At this stage there is little branding, and the title art is still in flux. When designing the splash page, I have the flexibility to experiment with brand elements, colors, patterns, and fonts based off my knowledge of the feel of the show. A splash page serves as a great testing ground for establishing a show, and must be flexible enough to accomodate various content additions in the months to come before the full site is developed. I designed this site with mobile usibility in mind from day one, with the elements smoothly flowing in a single column.
Design iterations: Exploring colors, patterns, and fonts, from some hinted dimensional elements to a fairly flat design.
As the months go by and more content is added, the site adjusts accordingly, using these new elements to update syles and brand systems until an identity is solidified. At this point, key art was developed and the single splash page was at its limit with the amount of content needed. The page on the right was the last transition look before the full site was developed.
