RI Food Bank Exhibition

This was a pop up exhibition designed to promote donations to the Rhode Island Food Bank that was built to be free standing and easily disassembled in order to easily transport this exhibition and effectively encourage donations around the state.
The concept was driven off the emotional toll that was felt through our research on poverty and starvation that continues to plague Rhode Island today. The level of poverty still remains at a critical level making our exhibit focused on the act of giving back to the community while delivering the message without using lists of statistics and paragraphs of persuasion. The aim was to create a genuine connection by surrounding the viewer with the community itself by directly showing the viewer the starving faces of infants, children, and adults that suffer from these circumstances on a daily basis. In each slot there is the face of a Rhode Island community member allowing for the viewer to come face to face with those that suffer from poverty and starvation. The food would be slotted in through these various inlets allowing the cans of food to stack up allowing the donator to directly visualize his or her impact on the community as it adds to the landscape of donations to help the cause.
It was designed to be easily taken apart and transported allowing for quick methods of promoting donations wherever, whenever.
Any contribution matters, go donate to your local food bank today!
