Conquering Dragongs came as a publication project to create a coffee table book of the subject of our choosing.
The book is about different types of phobians that some of us secretly suffer from.
How these phobias work and the methods to overcome them all.
All visualized as an encyclopedia about different types of dragons. Details about their characteristics(phobia symptoms),
how to slay them(overcome them) or at least how to tame them(how to manage them).
Before designer for the project, some research on phobias from medical websites.
After that, addition research was done on dragon mythology from around the world.
From Norse myth to Chinese legends, looking at how best to creatively portray the phobias.
Eventually settling on the severity of the phobias as the catergories and a simple flat colour art-style to not
overly complicate each spread, focusing readers attention onreading the interpretation of the phobias instead.
Maple Bright paper was used for the pages for great texture that also brings out the colour very well.
Each phobia would be given a dragon name as well as an illustration of them. Usually closely related to the type and nature of the phobia.
Each page/spread describe the character of the dragon and methods to conquering them.
Sections are broken up by catergories of different types dragons. More as a relax page and less relevent to the catergory of phobias.
