The main aim of this project was to explore and understand the process involved in making furniture. It also focussed on understanding the details of fixtures and joineries in wood.

The idea of "sliding" is basically inspired by Contemporary Furniture which is now used to make modern furniture in European countries. The table is mainly designed for studios and also as working tables. The motive of giving an extra height is to allow people to work while standing, the table can further be extended by sliders which slide from both the sides, there is also a base surface of normal seating height, so that the person can comfortably sit and work aswell. There is enough space to keep a laptop and mouse. Also, the lower surface can be used to store things very easily.

Materials used
Neem timber has been used for making the base(legs) of the table and the top has been made by using 16mm and 12mm plywood.

Joineriers used
For the base(legs) of the table Angular cross Lap joint has been used.Cross lap joint has been used to join the two legs of the table. For the top, mostly box joinery has been used.
