This table design was inspired by my exploration of how to incorporate elements of nature into furniture design. Through this inquisition, I arrived upon the idea of fabricating a coffee table that had planters built into the table. The two backlegs of the table appear to go through the table and form planters on the table top and there are two planters that insert into the table top. In making the aesthetic design choices of this table, I wanted to explore the dichotomy between organic and geometric forms. The legs and table top are all hand-shaped, and the organic shaping of the table top is directly juxtaposed with the large, geometric forms of the planters and table legs.
