Childhood outside

Growing up in Minnesota and having such a large backyard and many hours of exploring in nature really shaped how I live my life today. I recently received a box of video footage my father took of us as children. Studying the nostalgic footage and having memories flood back to me by witnessing different scenes shown on the film, I took screenshots of specific moments where I felt a particularly strong memory: whether it be feeling of touch, place, or emotion. (Such as the family hammock, laying in the grass, and reaching for a tree branch. I collected these screenshots and created a color theme and pattern I felt was specific to my topic. I then used Adobe Photoshop for clean artwork, Nedgraphics for repeat, and Pointcarre for weave structure to create a jacquard woven fabric.
Process of creating the pattern:
drawing, painting, layering, scanning, photoshop, and nedgraphics for repeat.
Final design in process of weaving on the Jacquard Loom

Thank you!
