The 2008 RIBA National and International Awards Dinner held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on the 27th June 2008 showcased a large architectural installation in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. The striking piece titled ‘Exercise One_Kite Assembly’ comprises 42 repeated architectural motifs or elements fabricated with carbon fibre frames and tensioned ripstop nylon screens.
From the 11th August to the 5th September 2008 the installation was reassembled and on show in the foyer of the RIBA headquarters in Portland Place, London W1.
Suspended from the ballroom ceiling, the whole installation measured approximately 24 metres long by 5 metres wide. The design stems from the idea of accumulation, the creation of a texture that can grow in space.”

My role in the project team was a broad one, ranging from Design Visualisation, Curation, Project Management of installation and private view.
