This design was an initial exploration into laminating veneer. I constructed this women's wedge with comfort in mind. The veneer and cork are both materials that seem to have good tensile strength. I designed to incorporate that strength by leaving a gap between the insole of veneer and the cork base. I wanted the wearer to feel a bounce in their step; almost like a springboard.
