This project is an outcome of a collaboration with engineers from Auburn University, Alabama: David Branscomb/Nakul Kothari. Learning the technical details of working with the material from its makers, I worked on developing a design to apply patented braided composite yarn (US20130291476 A1) in eyewear industry. The concept is to be able to simplify the manufacturing process of producing something that requires extreme precision and complicated processes and produce a minimalistic and futuristic looking spectacles.
The spectacles are designed with the objective of eliminating the need of nose pads. I have been using them with the intent of testing with/without nose pads and have been keeping the log of which provides more comfort which would help me make further design decisions.
