Our final sophomore project, the type specimen book, was created to showcase twenty typefaces we were given at the beginning of the semester. These typefaces are all popular, well documented, and famous in one way or another.

We were tasked with creating a cover, table of contents, two page spreads for each of the twenty typefaces, special characteristics, type indication samples, and a brief history of each of the typefaces. Given the option of landscape or portrait, I chose portrait. I started with many sketches of concepts for the book and settled on one that focused on the lines and curvature of each showcased typeface. This also served as a grid space for the other information that was included.
